On 25 September 2025, ComBac-Africa’s coordinator Prof Sören Becker and scientific lead Prof Aaron Aboderin presented the project’s mission to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in sub-Saharan Africa during a session hosted by Global Health EDCTP3 at the UNGA80 Science Summit.

From 2-4 July 2025, partners from across Africa and Europe convened in Saarland, Germany, to officially launch the ComBac-Africa project. The meeting provided an opportunity for partners to strengthen relationships, advance their collective efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance in sub-Saharan Africa, and set their ambitious plans into motion.
